Terms & Conditions

1. About Us

The Kitchen Pendant Company is a trading name of The Lighting Vault Ltd, registered in England and Wales.

Registered Company Number: 11970995
VAT Number: GB322788585
Registered Office: 82 Bank Street, Mexborough, South Yorkshire, S64 9LG
Email: sales@kitchenpendantcompany.co.uk

These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through kitchenpendantcompany.co.uk.

By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

2. Our Products

We take care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, dimensions and photographs are as accurate as possible.

Colours and finishes may appear slightly different depending on screen settings, lighting conditions and the natural characteristics of materials such as glass, metal and wood.

Minor variations resulting from manufacturing processes are not necessarily faults. This may include small bubbles or variations within glass, subtle differences in finish and minor marks that do not affect the appearance or function of the product when installed.

Product dimensions are approximate unless otherwise stated.

3. Pricing & Payment

All prices shown on our website are in pounds sterling and include UK VAT where applicable.

The price payable is the price shown at checkout at the time your order is placed.

Delivery charges, where applicable, will be clearly shown before payment is completed.

We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing or listing errors. If an error affects an order you have already placed, we will contact you before proceeding.

Payment must be received in full before an order can be processed.

4. Order Acceptance

After placing an order, you will receive an automated confirmation email.

This confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it for fulfilment.

We may be unable to accept an order because of stock availability, pricing or product information errors, payment issues, delivery restrictions or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If we cannot fulfil your order, we will contact you and refund any payment taken.

5. Dispatch & Delivery

Each product will display its applicable dispatch timeframe.

Our standard products are usually dispatched within 3–7 working days. Selected products may be eligible for Express Delivery with 1–3 working day dispatch.

Working days exclude weekends and UK bank holidays.

Dispatch times are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates. Once an order leaves us, the courier’s transit time is outside our direct control.

Tracking details will be provided where available once your order has been dispatched.

For the most accurate delivery information, we recommend following the tracking provided by the courier and, where available, using the courier’s dedicated app.

6. Delivery Charges

UK Mainland orders over £99 qualify for free standard delivery.

Orders below this value are charged the standard delivery rate displayed at checkout.

Express delivery is available only on eligible products and is charged separately.

Additional delivery charges may apply to areas outside our standard UK Mainland delivery region where delivery is available.

7. Delivery Address & Failed Deliveries

Please check your delivery address carefully before completing your order.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address and for monitoring courier tracking once an order has been dispatched.

Where a courier provides options to rearrange delivery, nominate a neighbour, select a pickup point or choose another available delivery option, it is the customer’s responsibility to manage these arrangements directly with the courier.

If an order is returned to us because of an incorrect address, repeated failed delivery attempts, refusal of delivery or failure to collect from a nominated collection point, reasonable return and redelivery costs may be deducted from any refund or charged before the order is resent.

8. Safe Place & Neighbour Deliveries

If you instruct a courier to leave your order in a nominated safe place or with a neighbour, you accept responsibility for that delivery instruction once the courier records the parcel as delivered in accordance with your request.

We therefore recommend choosing a secure delivery option wherever possible.

This does not affect your statutory rights where a courier has failed to follow the agreed delivery instructions.

9. Cancelling an Order

If you wish to cancel an order before dispatch, please contact us as soon as possible at sales@kitchenpendantcompany.co.uk.

We will do our best to stop the order before it leaves us, but this may not always be possible once fulfilment has begun.

If your order has already been dispatched, you can exercise your applicable cancellation and return rights after receiving the goods.

For online purchases, you have 14 days from receiving your order to tell us that you wish to return, followed by a further 14 days to return the goods.

10. Change-of-Mind Returns

To request a return, please contact sales@kitchenpendantcompany.co.uk within 14 days of receiving your order.

We will provide the appropriate return instructions.

Items should be returned unused and uninstalled, with all components and original packaging included.

Customers may inspect goods in the same way they reasonably could in a physical shop. We may make an appropriate deduction from a refund where goods have been handled beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and function and their value has been reduced as a result.

Unless the goods are faulty or incorrect, customers are responsible for the cost of returning them.

We strongly recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured return service.

11. Return Packaging

Lighting products are often fragile, so please retain the original packaging until you are satisfied with your order.

Returned goods should be packaged securely with all supplied components, protective inserts and product packaging.

Please do not attach courier labels, writing or excessive tape directly to product packaging.

Where your order arrived inside an outer shipping carton, suitable outer packaging should also be used for the return.

Goods remain the customer’s responsibility until they are received by us when the return has been arranged independently by the customer.

12. Refunds

Once returned goods have been received and inspected, we will process approved refunds to the original payment method.

Refunds will be issued within 14 business days of receiving the returned goods, or earlier where required by law.

For qualifying cancelled online orders, the original standard delivery charge will also be refunded where required. If you paid extra for an upgraded delivery service, we are not required to refund the additional amount above the cost of our standard delivery service.

Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to display the refund after we have processed it.

13. Damaged, Faulty, Missing or Incorrect Goods

Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If an item arrives damaged, appears faulty, is missing parts or is not the item you ordered, please contact us promptly at sales@kitchenpendantcompany.co.uk with your order number and photographs where relevant.

Please retain the product and all packaging until we have advised you what to do next.

Depending on the circumstances, we may provide a replacement component, replacement product, repair, return label, collection or refund.

Your statutory rights in relation to faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods are not affected by these terms. Customers may have rights to reject faulty goods, or to request repair or replacement, depending on the circumstances and timing of the fault.

14. Installation & Inspection Before Installation

Lighting should be inspected before installation.

Please check that:

  • the product is correct

  • the finish and appearance are acceptable

  • the product is complete

  • there is no visible damage

  • the dimensions and specification are suitable for your intended installation

We recommend that electrical lighting products are installed by a suitably qualified electrician and in accordance with the supplied fitting instructions.

We are not responsible for installation costs or consequential costs arising from installing an obviously damaged or incorrect product that should reasonably have been identified before installation.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot legally be excluded.

15. Replacement Parts

Where a fault can reasonably be resolved by supplying a replacement component, we may offer a replacement part rather than replacing the complete fitting.

We may ask for faulty components to be returned to us.

Where parts are missing from a new delivery, please contact us promptly so that we can investigate and arrange the appropriate solution.

16. Warranties

Where a product is covered by a manufacturer or retailer warranty, details will be provided where applicable.

A warranty is additional to, and does not replace, your statutory consumer rights.

If a product develops a fault, please contact us before arranging repair work or replacing parts yourself.

17. Product Modifications

We cannot normally accept change-of-mind returns for products that have been materially altered, modified or damaged after delivery.

This does not affect rights relating to faults that were already present when the goods were supplied.

18. Courier Claims & Delivery Disputes

If there is a dispute regarding delivery, we may need to open an investigation with the courier.

We may ask you to provide information or respond directly to a courier request as part of that investigation.

Please cooperate with reasonable requests within the timeframe provided, as failure to do so may prevent the courier from completing the claim.

19. Promotions & Discount Codes

Promotional codes and discounts are subject to any additional conditions displayed with the offer.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, discounts cannot be combined.

We reserve the right to withdraw or amend promotions before an order is placed.

Any rights relating to returns or faulty products continue to apply to goods purchased during a promotion or sale.

20. Website Availability

We aim to keep kitchenpendantcompany.co.uk available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access at all times.

We may update product information, pricing, content or site functionality from time to time.

21. Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed, or for business losses arising from a consumer purchase where such exclusions are permitted by law.

Consumer contract terms must be fair and transparent, and terms that unlawfully restrict consumer rights cannot be relied upon.

22. Privacy

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

These policies explain how we collect, use and protect personal information and how cookie preferences can be managed.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions occasionally.

The terms applicable to your purchase will normally be those published on our website when your order is placed.

24. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also benefit from mandatory rights under the law that applies where you live.
