Why we chose the Cottam
A statement bar light with a softer, warmer finish.
We chose the Cottam because it gives you the visual impact of a pendant bar without the heavier look of a single solid fitting.
The slim black frame keeps it clean and architectural, while the amber glass globes add warmth and help soften the overall appearance.
The staggered arrangement of the six lights also gives it a more decorative feel, making it a great option for customers who want something more distinctive above a kitchen island.
Perfect for Kitchen Islands
At 110cm long, the Cottam is particularly well suited to medium and larger kitchen islands.
As a guide, it should work especially well over islands around 180–220cm long, allowing enough space at either end so the fitting feels proportionate rather than oversized.
It can also work on slightly shorter or longer islands depending on the look you want, but for most layouts I’d suggest:
Around 160–180cm island: creates a fuller, more statement look
Around 180–220cm island: ideal proportion for most installations
Around 220–240cm+ island: still works well, particularly if you prefer more space around the fitting
Because the six lights are arranged across one 110cm bar, the Cottam gives you the effect of multiple pendants while requiring just one coordinated ceiling fitting.
